Mylène Lassalle

Mylène Lassalle was born in 1987 into a working-class family in the north of France. She developed very young a passion for music and learned to play piano, violin and viola. In 2008, she joined the National violin making school in Mirecourt. Then she learned the rigor of restoration, setting up and sound adjustments in Lyon for several years.  She finally decided to return to her first love, violin making, and she discovered many different techniques in several French workshops, mostly in Angers, to perfect her method. In 2017 she opened her own workshop in Correze (central France) the “thousand sources Land,” where she chose to devote herself exclusively to violin making. There, surrounded by woods and rivers, she found the perfect living environment to create violins and violas. She is as much inspired by old Italian masters as by her contemporary colleagues around the world, and she attaches great importance to discussions and exchanges between violin makers to evolve her work.
