Guy Harrison

Guy Harrison studied at the Newark School of Violin Making in England. After graduating with the highest level of distinction, he was employed in Europe and further trained in the restoration of fine instruments. After making instruments in Europe, he moved to Canada to open his own studio. For several years, he has taken part in the Oberlin Violin Makers Workshops and has published articles in the Strad magazine. Since 1997 Guy Harrison has won awards & medals in several international violin making competitions, both in Germany and the United States. In 2022 he won gold medal at the 2022 Violin Society of America competition for violin and was invited to judge in the 2024 VSA competition. His instruments are owned and performed by musicians in Canada, the United States, Europe and Australia. He enjoys working alongside musicians and assisting them as their careers progress. Guy Harrison is member of the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers and a former president of the Canadian Association of Violin and Bow Makers.
